For twenty years, practice software has given small practices more screens to fill in: scheduling in one place, charting in another, billing in a third, and a person in the middle carrying information between them.

Software can now draft a clinical note, answer a patient and read a payment statement. Practice software should be less a filing cabinet, more a colleague who handles the routine and brings you the decisions.

Chiropractors see many patients a day, document every visit, and bill a mix of cash and insurance. Most own their practice, so the doctor is also the manager, the biller of last resort and the one who stays late.

They are well served clinically and poorly served by software. That is the problem we work on.
